Risk & Assessment

Screening

When it comes to cancer prevention, screening is essential. Cancer screening involves checking for cancer in people who have no cancer symptoms. Certain risk factors, such as family history, increase your chances of developing cancer. Early detection may result in cancer being easier to treat, and aid in the prevention of cancer spreading.

Are you at risk for lung cancer? Should you consider a lung screening?

If you answered yes to both of the last two questions, you may be a candidate for a low-cost CT lung cancer screening.

  • Are you between the ages of 55 – 74?
  • Are you a current smoker or a former smoker who quit within the past 15 years?
  • Did you smoke one pack per day for 30 years or two packs per day for 15 years (the number of packs per day times the number of years smoked should be 30 or above)?
